Many hands make light work!
Help us wrap up after Bike Around the Bay ↗, a two-day, 175-mile ride that sees thousands of riders pedaling to raise critical funds for Galveston Bay Foundation's conservation work.
After the big ride, all those supplies have to come home and Unloading Volunteers help us get equipment off the trucks, organized, and back where it belongs.
As an Unloading Volunteer, you will work alongside staff and fellow volunteers to:
- Unload boxed and loose supplies from event trucks
- Wash and sanitize coolers and ice chests
- Move supplies using wagons, hand trucks, and safe lifting
- Sort and organize supplies in their designated storage areas
- Assist GBF staff with additional post-event tasks as needed
Snacks and beverages will be provided. All volunteers will receive an official Bike Around the Bay volunteer T-shirt. Restrooms and wi-fi are available onsite.
Be prepared for an active shift that includes using a hose and possibly getting wet, walking, bending, carrying, and lifting.
