Net-Working for Oysters!
Join us for a hands-on workday supporting Galveston Bay Foundation’s oyster reef restoration efforts. GBF uses recycled shrimp nets to hold recycled oyster shells for our oyster reef monitoring efforts and we need your help to finish preparing them so they can be used out in the field.
The nets have already been cut to size. Your task will be to help “sew” them into sacks by threading paracord through the edges to secure them.
No experience is needed, and all materials will be provided.
Your time will directly support the restoration of oyster reefs in our local waters. Come meet other community members who care about a cleaner, healthier bay.
Enjoy complimentary pizza and sodas as a thank-you for lending a hand.
