Description

Adopt-A-Beach Registration is Open!

Join GBF and volunteers from across the Texas coast for the Texas Adopt-A-Beach Coastwide Fall Cleanup ↗ , one of the state's largest volunteer efforts dedicated to removing marine debris from beaches, shorelines, marshes, and waterways.

Since 1986, Adopt-A-Beach volunteers have removed thousands of tons of trash from the Texas coast while collecting valuable information that helps researchers and community leaders better understand marine debris and its impacts on coastal habitats.

This is a family-friendly event and there are many sites to choose from!

Cleanup participants must register through the official Adopt-A-Beach registration system.

Register on Eventbrite ↗

GBF will once again host a cleanup site at Morgan's Point and we invite you to join us, but spots fill up quickly. Be sure to reserve your spot soon or consider supporting another Adopt-A-Beach site where volunteers are needed.

Help Host the Event

Consider joining the GBF team as an Adopt-A-Beach Event Support Volunteer. You'll work alongside Galveston Bay Foundation staff to ensure the event runs smoothly while creating a welcoming experience for hundreds of cleanup participants.

  • Parking Lot Volunteers: Guide arriving vehicles, assist with signage, and welcome guests.
  • Check-In Volunteers: Greet arrivals, collect waivers, and direct volunteers to the next station.
  • Supply Monitors: Help keep supplies stocked and volunteers moving efficiently through the event.
  • Setup & Breakdown: Work with staff before and after the event to prepare the site and pack up equipment.

Best of all, helping as a GBF Event Support Volunteer doesn't stop you from being part of the action. You can do both!

Just be sure to register through Adopt-A-Beach's Eventbrite page to participate in the cleanup in addition to registering for an event support role.

Contact volunteer@galvbay.org for more information.

By removing marine debris from the shoreline, you help protect wildlife, improve water quality, and keep Galveston Bay healthier for people and nature.
