Pear is our Diamond Backed Terrapin that lives at our headquarters in Kemah. Volunteers will clean her habitat and get hands-on experience caring for an endangered species.
Tasks include:
- Cleaning the habitat fully (draining the water, scrubbing all objects)
- Refilling the habitat with the correct salt ratio
- Handling Pear with respect and safety
- Feeding Pear the correct diet
- Communicating any concerns to staff
- Any other duties with cleaning
Volunteers must pass animal care training before being able to sign up for this shift.
