Join Moody Gardens for this partnered project to mitigate shoreline erosion at the Moody Gardens golf course. Using recycled shells that Moody Gardens has collected through GBF'S Oyster Shell Recycling Program, we are creating oyster shell bags to be used to build a new reef for the Galveston Bay.
Tasks include:
- Help create oyster shell bags that weigh ~30 pounds.
- Work in small groups of 2-3 people. Help load and unload supplies.
- All supplies will be provided, including gloves.
- Please bring a reusable water bottle.
- Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
The workdays will be from 9 AM to 12 PM for the following dates:
- Wednesday, September 10th - passed
- Tuesday, September 16th
- Wednesday, September 17th
- Thursday, September 18th
- Friday, September 19th
- Tuesday, September 23rd
- Thursday, September 25th
