Who We Are
The GBF Conservation Stewardship team works to preserve and enhance critical habitats across the Galveston Bay watershed. Working with private landowners, local agencies, and community volunteers, we steward over 17,500 acres of coastal forests, wetlands, prairies, and farmlands. We also propagate plants for our restoration efforts at two native plant nurseries in Baytown and Kemah.
What We Do
While volunteers are not involved in our land acquisition and monitoring activities, they are vital to our habitat conservation & stewardship programs.
Volunteers actively participate in a diversity of conservation projects and activities focused on improving and maintaining a range of ecosystems including freshwater and estuarine wetlands, prairies and forest.
